how the nfl is divided

Since 1892 the National Football League has dominated the sport of American Football. The NFL is an entertainment empire that has grown exponentially over time and in order to keep up with the ever-changing demands of fans it has been divided into a variety of divisions. Each one of these divisions is just as important as the last and they all play a pivotal role in the success of the NFL.

The NFL is primarily divided into two conferences, the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). These differ by region and have different teams that are included in each. The NFC includes teams from the Midwest, south and west while the AFC teams are from the east. Each conference has it’s own set of rules and regulations as to how the teams must compete and how their championships will be awarded.

Moreover, within these conferences there are four distinct divisions, each one specifically designed to progress teams based on their strengths and weaknesses. These are as follows – the North, South, East and West. However, it is not uncommon for the divisions to be further divided into different groups due to geographical or competitive reasons. These are known as Conferences, or Sub-Divisions.

For example, the North has the NFC North, the East has the AFC East, the South has the NFC South, and the West has the AFC West. This further categorization enables teams to compete against similar opponents based on their locations.

Additionally, during the season teams face off in a variety of match ups, providing the fans with a full on season of excitement. Each week teams face other teams in their conference and division, in order to decide who will advance to the playoffs. After the regular season is completed, the teams with the best records are allowed to compete in the playoffs, where, ultimately, the champion is determined.

The Playoffs are a thrilling time of the year, as teams compete in a best of two-out-of-three elimination tournament. This tournament is where teams must prove their worth, in order to make it to the Super-Bowl, where the true Champions of the NFL will be crowned.

As for the Super-Bowl, this is considered a celebration of strength and endurance. The Super-Bowl is a thrilling event that culminates in a winner-takes-all championship game. This incredible event is broadcasted to millions of fans from around the world and is the culmination of an entire seasons worth of work.

The National Football League has been around for quite some time and has come quite a long way since it’s beginnings. This is clearly evidenced by the way in which it is divided and how each of these divisions plays an incredibly important role in producing some of the greatest football teams in the world. It’s truly a remarkable display of skill and talent. Have you ever watched a game? It’s one of the most exciting spectacles I’ve ever seen!
