I’ve been watching the NFL for a long time, and I’ve seen a lot of great running backs come and go. But out of all those great running backs, there’s one who stands above the rest for me: Saquon Barkley.
He’s a true triple threat with his versatility in the backfield. He can run like the wind, catch like a receiver, and block like a guard. You can tell why he was such a highly sought-after recruit coming out of college. Plus, he has such a unique running style that makes it hard for defenders to predict his next move — it’s incredible!
His combination of speed and agility is off the charts, and he knows exactly when to make the jump cut to elude defenders. He’s good at picking up yards after contact, which is why he never fails to gain ground in the open field. Saquon lives for the highlight reel plays. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s the best running back in the NFL.
It’s not just his running ability that stands out either. Barkley is an incredible leader and mentor too. He’s humble and down to earth, and gives so much back to the community. Recently, he’s been helping out a high school football team with drills and plays. It’s these little actions that truly make him a role model for all aspiring running backs.
And what better timing too than in his contract year? Saquon is going to be asking for a large pay raise, and he’ll be able to back it up with stats. He’s already gained over 3,000 rushing yards in his brief career, and will only continue to rack up those numbers as he gets more involved in the passing game.
I can’t think of another player more deserving of the title as the best running back in the NFL. Saquon is unarguably the best player at his position, and I don’t see anyone dethroning him anytime soon. He embodies everything that you want in a running back, and helps his team in so more ways than one. Saquon Barkley is truly a special player, and in my books — the best running back in the NFL.
Since then, Saquon Barkley has continued to raise the bar, not only for himself but for other running backs in the NFL. He’s become even more of a dual-threat, closer to being a triple-threat with an increase in his passing receptions. With the Giants, Saquon has gained 4,999 total yards with 25 total touchdowns in three years. Not only that, he’s had 26 double-digit rushing games since 2018, proving he’s still one of the most unstoppable running backs in the league.
Off the field, Saquon isn’t slowing down either. He recently started a foundation called The Saquon Barkley Foundation which focuses on the mental and physical health of children. He’s also an advocate for mental health awareness and recently spoke with renowned New York psychiatrist Dr. Bhavna Bakshi on how he deals with pressure and anxiety.
It’s safe to say Saquon Barkley is the real deal who continues to give back to the sport and influence his community in positive and impactful ways. Even if you don’t believe he’s the best running back in the NFL, you can’t deny that he’s proving to be the best role model for those coming after him.
This season, Barkley has had to deal with a top-five toughest rushing schedule, yet he’s still managed to come out on top with his second-best career season in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. He’s even earned his first career rushing title, proving he’s still a force to be reckoned with and a dangerous asset for the Giants’ offense.
Speaking of offense, Saquon is also a tremendous asset for the passing game. With 151 receptions since 2018, he’s one of the most versatile and dynamic running backs who are found in the open field whether that’s off-screen or outside the pocket. He’s also a great pass protector who works with the offensive line to open holes.
It goes without saying that Saquon Barkley is in a league of his own. A rare talent with a unique backstory, he’s a source of inspiration and perseverance. He knows what it takes to make it to the top and has made a name for himself in the NFL by proving he’s not just a great running back but a true leader to his team.
