I’m a huge NFL fan, but watching games in Europe is not easy, considering the fact that most of the US broadcasts are blocked here. How did I manage to get around that? Let me tell you.
First of all, I had to look up what the NFL actually offers in Europe. Turns out, most of the channels licensed to air games in Europe are subscription-based. But, thankfully, there are still some ways you can get to watch the games for free.
I decided to go with NFL Game Pass. The service provides access to all NFL games, including the pre-season and the Super Bowl. They offer a premium membership with access to exclusive highlights, full-length replays, and the ability to stream games live on your TV, laptop, or phone. It’s definitely worth it, considering the fact that it’s much cheaper than subscription packages.
Next, I had to figure out how to get around the restrictions. I used a Virtual Private Network (VPN). VPNs allow you to change your online location, and since the restrictions are based on geographic location, this will help you get around them. By connecting to a US server, I was able to watch live NFL games from any country in Europe.
The only thing left to do was actually watching the games. I booked flights to London, Madrid, and Rome for the NFL games I wanted to watch. I even managed to get discounted tickets to the Super Bowl through NFL International. They have special deals for people watching the big game from abroad.
Those are all the steps I took to watch NFL games in Europe. But it wasn’t easy and it was quite time-consuming. With the right resources and a willingness to try new things, though, you can definitely make the most out of your football viewing experience.
Next, I explored how to make sure that I get to watch the games I wanted to watch. I figured if I wanted to watch a specific game then I needed to keep track of the game time and which channel it was being broadcasted on. I started to regularly keep a tab on the day and times of the games.
Then, I figured out how to make sure that I wouldn’t miss out on any NFL games. Since there are so many games going on at once, I made sure to keep a check on all the games being broadcasted in my region. I even set up reminders on my phone to ensure that I wouldn’t miss out on anything.
I also found out how to get tickets and make the most out of the games I watched. Tickets for the games can be bought online and they’re usually much cheaper than buying from the stadiums. Plus, there are also tons of discounts and promotions that you can take advantage of if you know where to look.
To top it off, I experimented with ways to get closer to the game. I watched a few games online but I realized that broadcasting in person gives a completely different experience. To do that, I followed the NFL fan community and started to attend their meet-ups and events.
It’s still surreal to think that I’ve managed to watch NFL games in Europe. You just need to be creative and have a willingness to try new things. With that, along with the resources and tips I’ve mentioned here, you too can achieve your football dream!
