I’m excited about the 2021 NFL Draft. As a long-time fan, I can’t wait to see which players the teams are going to pick. This has definitely been one of the most anticipated drafts in a long time.
One of the most talked-about stories of the 2021 NFL Draft is the potential of Trevor Lawrence being selected as the first overall pick. It’s no secret that he’s the best quarterback in this draft, and could be a generational talent. Not only has he been dominant on the field, but his leadership skills and attitude off the field have been a bonus when considering his capability as a franchise QB.
What excites me the most about this draft though, is all the other potential stars up for grabs. Players like Penei Sewell, Ja’Marr Chase, and Zach Wilson could all be immediate contributors to a team. Not to mention the plethora of defensive talent available to teams in need of a lift. It always intrigues me to see which players teams decide to reach for, and the impact each player can have.
There seem to be more question marks at this draft than in years past. With so many teams in need of a quarterback or a few defensive pieces, it’s hard to predict what teams will do. The reality is that a lot of teams are willing to give up valuable assets to draft their guy. This could lead to trades, which always spice up the draft.
I’m not sure what I’m looking forward to more; the potential for Trevor Lawrence to be drafted at the top or all the trade possibilities. Both have me on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
Most experts seem to agree that there’s a lot of talent in this draft. While there seems to be a lot of question marks in terms of which players teams will pick, it’s hard to argue that there isn’t enough talent. Teams will be able to pick up instant starters and impact players in all rounds.
I’m also looking forward to seeing how teams will fill other areas of need. We already know who the top prospects are, but every team has different needs. Seeing how teams address these needs and fill needs of their own is going to be key for team success in 2021.
There’s a lot of talent in this draft, but not all of them will reach their full potential. It will be interesting to see which team drafts the players that end up panning out. Will it be the teams with the most need or the teams with the most insight? We’ll have to wait and see.
It doesn’t matter what round a team drafts in, there are plenty of key contributors to be found. I’m genuinely excited to see which guys play well and contribute in the NFL this year.

For example, a player who is projected to go in the later rounds can be selected early and vice versa. It also gives us a glimpse of what teams think of the players they’re looking at.
It’s always refreshing to see teams taking a chance on players who might not have had a great statistical year or the guys who haven’t been on everyone’s radar. Teams might just snatch up a hidden gem in this draft class, so it’ll be interesting to see what teams have up their sleeves.
I’m especially looking forward to the NFL Draft Day and watching it unfold. The day is full of drama, surprises, joy and sometimes heartbreak. It is something I always like to watch as a fan. It also outlines the expectations of the teams for the season as some of the picks will be asked to contribute right away.
The days of virtual drafts also contribute to the overall excitement. Hearing coaches and general managers virtually react to their picks make for a great watch. This will be an unbelievably full two-day event, filled with potential.
The 2021 NFL Draft is sure to be an eventful and entertaining experience. The potential for a plethora of new stars to emerge, as well as a draft full of surprises, is sure to make it a memorable one. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
