I was sitting around with some friends the other night, and we were discussing sports. Of all the topics that were discussed, one that stands out to me was the question of “Can you pull hair in the NFL?” While I thought it was a strange question, it got me thinking about the effects of pulling hair in an extreme contact sport.
One thing is certain: the NFL has been known to be a physical sport, and if you are going to pull your hair, it’s going to hurt. Even without pulling hair, football is a very physical game and any player who chooses to engage in such a violent sport must be aware of the consequences. Pulling someone’s hair can cause serious damage, and even though it may seem like a minor thing, no one wants to get into a fight with another player.
The NFL has very strict rules about what players can and cannot do, and it is clear that hair pulling is not allowed. According to the NFL’s rulebook, “No player shall grab an opponent’s face mask, helmet, or hair.” This means that players are not allowed to grab an opponent’s hair in any way. If they were to attempt to do so, then they would be subject to a penalty and/or disqualification from the game.
However, that’s not to say it hasn’t been done before. In fact, there have been several cases of players engaging in hair pulling during games. For example, in a 2015 game between the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots, Robert Mathis was seen pulling the hair of New England’s guard Sebastian Vollmer. He was penalized for the action, but it does show that hair pulling can (and does) happen.
While there have been a few examples of hair pulling in the NFL, it doesn’t mean that it is okay or that it will be tolerated. It is still a violation of the rules and players can still be penalized for such actions. Even though it may seem like a minor thing, it still has the potential to cause serious damage.
It’s also important to note that pulling hair can also lead to off-field consequences. For example, if a player were to grab another player’s hair in the heat of the moment, then he could be subject to a fine or even suspension by the league. So not only can it lead to on-field consequences, it can also have off-field implications as well.
In conclusion, hair pulling in the NFL is strictly prohibited and players can be subject to severe disciplinary action. As a fan, it is important to remember that this is an extreme contact sport and pulling hair should be avoided at all costs. Players should be aware of the consequences before engaging in such an act, and it’s best to leave the hair pulling to the barbers and salons.
