When I think of the NFL and California, some of the best players come to mind. For starters, one of the most dominant quarterbacks of the last decade, Aaron Rodgers. He’s a Cal alum and he’s put together one of the best careers that the league has ever seen. Other greats from Cal include Jared Goff, Jamaal Charles, Keenan Allen, and Marshawn Lynch.
I’m a big fan of Aaron Rodgers. A lot of people want to compare him to the greats, like Montana, Brady, Manning, but Rodgers is in a class of his own. He’s been so dominant for so long that I know he will go down in history as one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game.
Jared Goff is another solid Cal QB that I’ve enjoyed watching over the years. While he hasn’t reached the level of Rodgers yet, he is still one of the best in the league. It always shocks me how he can get the ball right where it needs to go and make some incredible throws.
If I were to name one favorite Cal player, it would be Jamaal Charles. He was a great running back with a knack for finding the holes. I still remember how he drove teams crazy every time he touched the ball.
Keenan Allen is another great player from Cal. He never gets the credit he deserves, but he’s been one of the most consistent players in the league. I also love the way he plays with tremendous heart and energy. He’s a great leader on and off the field.
Finally, Marshawn Lynch is one of my favorite Cal players. He was one of the hardest running backs to bring down and he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. He was the epitome of the hardnosed football player and it was always entertaining watching him.
These are some of the best NFL talent to come from Cal, and their names will be remembered throughout the history of the game. They’ve all had great careers, and I’m honored to have had the chance to watch them.
