The next NFL Draft is in 2023 and the hype is real – it’s already felt like an eternity since the last one! Since the consensus top four picks have already been named, I’m feeling an adrenaline rush unlike anything before.
My good friend recently told me that all four are slated to go in the top five, and even though nothing is official until it’s officially happened, I can’t help but feel the buzz. I mean, this could be a special draft – one that’ll go down in history and shape the NFL for generations.

It’s amazing how far we’ve come – from the days of Mel Kiper Jr.’s businessman look to the more advanced analytics of today. Evaluating QBs, in particular, has become increasingly sophisticated over the years, with organizations able to process more and more info to make better decisions on young players.
Still, I can’t help but picture the nostalgia of a draft room full of scouts, GMs and coaches arguing over prospects. It’s the kind of thinking that’s helped teams build dynasties in the past and it still holds true today – after all, you’re much better off going for a solid player that fits your system than a flashy player that can’t.
What’s even more intriguing is how the landscape of the NFL can change with just a few good picks. Here’s hoping that the 2023 NFL Draft will be a total game-changer.
I’m equally excited about the undrafted free agents. This type of insight can be invaluable to teams looking for the right fit, and it should be interesting to see what the prospects say during their interviews as we get closer to draft day.
It almost seems surreal that the draft is finally here. All of the exhausting research, film-studying and debating has led us to this moment. Though nothing is official until Roger Goodell steps up to the podium, I’m incredibly excited for what promises to be a historic event.

I’m sure some players will make a name for themselves no matter when they get picked, and I wouldn’t be surprised if a few unknown names come up as pleasant surprises for some teams. It’s these special players that are hardest to scout, and they often times go overlooked. With the right chemistry, a few diamonds in the rough could potentially steer a team in the right direction.
We can expect a balance of raw physical talent and skillful instincts from each of the top prospects. Some may be natural athletes with refined skills, while others may be technical players with a great eye for the game.
