Kentucky players in the NFL have been some of the most successful and celebrated athletes in the world. It’s a point of pride for many of us Kentuckians that so many of our homegrown players are making it big.
Growing up in Kentucky, the talk of NFL stars that made it out of the state always intrigued me. It took a lot of hard work, commitment, and wealth of talent for these amazing players to make it to the highest of stages. It’s a dream that many of us in the state share.
Some of the most notable NFL players with Kentucky connections include Randall Cobb, Benny Snell Jr., Josh Allen and Darius West. It’s humbling to see that the bluegrass state is producing some of the best talent in all of the NFL. The most well-known of the bunch is Randall Cobb, who was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2011 and was an integral part of their team up until his signing with the Houston Texans in 2019.
Cobb is a living legend in the state of Kentucky and serves as an example for all of us searching for success. He was a dual threat quarterback/receiver coming out of the University of Kentucky and now serves as one of the best wide receivers in the league. His success should be a beacon of light for all of the aspiring football players in the state.
Benny Snell Jr. is another notable name from the bluegrass state in the NFL. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019 and has been a dominate force on their offense ever since. His hard-nosed running style is second to none and he has quickly become a favorite of Steeler Nation. His success story is inspiring to watch and he is a testament to what hard work and dedication can achieve.
Josh Allen has been a star in the NFL since the Buffalo Bills drafted him in 2018 and he has been a disruptive force for the team’s defense. He was an All-American at Kentucky in 2017 and is now poised to be one of the top defensive players in the entire league. He has been hailed as a disruptive force in the pocket and has the potential to develop into one of the most fearsome pass rushers in the game.
Finally, Darius West is the newest Kentucky player to make the jump to the NFL. He was drafted in the third round by the New Orleans Saints in 2019 and has impressed many with his play so far. He was a standout safety for the University of Kentucky and looks to be a great building block for the Saints defense moving forward.
It’s exciting to see all of these Kentucky players in the NFL and I’m sure it brings a lot of pride to the entire state. We can all look up to the success of these Kentucky natives and use their achievements as a source of motivation for ourselves. Seeing Kentucky football players make the jump to the professional level is a sign that anything is possible with the right amount of hard work.
