Today I really want to talk to you about the most recent NFL Patriots game I just watched.​ I was so thrilled and excited going into it, as the last Patriots game I had seen ended in an amazing victory.​ I was sure that this one would be no different and boy, was I right.​

I remember when the game started with the kickoff, my heart racing as the ball flew to and fro between the two teams.​ Every time the Patriots ran or passed the ball my eyes were glued to the screen, cheering and screaming along with every positive play.​ Each touchdown was a celebration, I was growing more and more energized with each passing second.​

What made everything even more exciting was the Patriots’ leadership and organisation.​ You could really see that everyone knew what they were doing and they all worked together as one big unit.​ They each knew where they needed to be at the right moment and this led to some amazing plays.​ I couldn’t help but think that if every team could be as organised as this one, it would be even more enjoyable.​

The best part of the whole game for me was the last quarter.​ It seemed like the momentum between the teams switched, as the Patriots had the advantage.​ Suddenly, the plays all started coming together perfectly and soon enough the Patriot’s had sealed the victory.​ Everyone was thrilled, and everyone including myself was exuberant with joy!

Even thought I was unable to be attending these games in person, watching them on my TV was almost like being there.​ I celebrated every touchdown, cheered and screamed when the team gained a lead, and shed a few tears during times when it seemed like the tide was turning.​ Every second was captivating and witnessing the Patriots win was the cherry on top of the cake for me.​

I truly believe that is something that every fan must experience at least once in their lifetime.​ It’s something that will stick with you forever.​ I know it has for me.​

I decided to do some research and try to understand this situation a bit better.​ I found out that a couple of players had made statements supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and proposed that their kneeling was a peaceful form of protest to bring attention to the suffering and inequality that still exists in our nation.​ The sentiment was echoed again and again and even reached some of the coaches who agreed with the peaceful protest.​

The whole ordeal made me contemplate things a bit more.​ It made me think how we, as a nation, need to come together and listen to each other and unify on issues such as this one.​ We can’t keep living in a world where people are divided by race or skin color.​ We all need to have open minds and learn to understand different cultures and perspectives.​

It also made me question myself, what would I do in that type of situation? Would I kneel or stand? Would I support the movement or have nothing to do with it? So many questions running through my head.​

But when I stopped and thought about it more, I realized how lucky we are to have passionate players in the league willing to speak up and lift others’ voices.​ We should take a moment and appreciate their courage and not judge them for taking a stand.​

I also learned that there are other ways to show support to the movement.​ From donations to volunteer work and so much more.​ We all have our own way of helping, and every bit counts.​

It’s time we take a step back, educate ourselves and listen to each other stories so that we can have meaningful conversations.​ Let’s challenge ourselves to be more aware and conscious of the issues that still exist in our country.​ Change takes time, courage and dedication.​ Let’s work together and be the change we wish to see in the world.​

I reckon that, with the right combination of hard work, dedication, and the opportunity presented to them, someone from UNH could make it to the big leagues.​ I don’t doubt that UNH players have the potential and the talent to reach the heights of success of playing in the NFL.​ After all, a true champion never stops striving for improvement.​

It’s gonna take a lot of hard work and perseverance, that’s for sure.​ There’s no magic wand to make you a professional athlete, and I believe that the folks at UNH football have what it takes to make that dream a reality.​ UNH players are known for showing enthusiasm and talent for the game, and if they get an opportunity to showcase themselves at the highest level, they would definitely shine.​

Plus, it wouldn’t hurt to have some of your former classmates in the NFL too, to show the world what UNH students are capable of.​ That sort of recognition would be great exposure for UNH, and possibly bring attention to other players and alumni.​
